Compile#16 part 2 January 30-31 (USS Rosenante) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Mission: The Gilded Man Day: 8 Stardate: 2413.11.08 Compile Summary (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ, Ensign sg Sanok, Day 8, 1957) (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ, Ensign sg Sanok, Day 8, 2001) (USS Rosenante - a CO - Lt Cmdr T'Larah Sullivan - 2020) (Seliya facility, Holding Block, ATAC/SEC Lt. jg  Ben Soma-2025) (Irlix- Seliya Facility Corridor -ACMO Ensign Sam Lopez, Day 8 - 2026) Captain's Log, supplemental. Stardate 2413.11.08 --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ, Ensign sg Sanok, Day 8, 1957) Matrix said, "Sanok, check the computer console over on that desk. I'll check the records and displays on the other side of the room." Sanok nodded, wishing to remain as quiet as possible. Moving silently through the dimly-lit room, he stopped at the computer. It was turned off, but even if it wasn't, he didn't know what he could have done anyway. Top secret information, like the location of the Starfleet personnel, wouldn't be something that could be accessed like checking out material at a library. Only people with the highest security classifications and passwords, would be able to access such information. A faint sound from the direction Matrix went, made Sanok become more alert. He listened carefully for more sounds. Seeing Matrix motioning to him, Sanok ducked behind the computer desk. He watched as Matrix backed up and moved around to the other side of the room, taking a wide sweep back to where he had been, back to where Sanok had heard the sound. Moving to gain a better view, Sanok saw several Irlixians sitting at a table. He readied one of his phasers. When Matrix had returned to his original position, he was discovered by the Irlixians. Weapons were drawn and phased energy beams were fired. Sanok moved in to help, but by the time he had made it across the room, the quick firefight had ended, with two unconscious Irlixians on the floor, and one held captive, his hands in the air, fear all over his face. Sanok moved to the left and went behind the man, patting him down. The Irlixian had no weapons, but he had a wallet and a set of keys. Inside the wallet was paper currency, pictures, presumably of his family, and an ID card. "He's clean," said Sanok in a hushed tone. He handed Matrix the Irlixian's ID card. (reply Matrix, any) (posted by Bob) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ, Ensign sg Sanok, Day 8, 2001) Fear. It was a powerful emotion. Fear. It could cause a person to do things they wouldn't ever normally do. Fear. It could turn the bravest person into a crying child. Fear. It could make a weak or cowardly person do heroic feats. Fear. It moved through a person like predator. Fear. It often felt like a stifling and choking entity, filling one's entire being. Fear. It could save a person from harm or cause them to see a threat when none existed. Fear. It was many things, but one thing it was not, was logical. The Irlixian man that Matrix had caught, and Sanok had searched, was in no danger from the two Starfleet officers. Oh, it was possible he would have been temporarily taken as a prisoner. He could possibly have been stunned so as to not sound an alarm. It was a certainty, that he would survive the encounter. At least Sanok and Matrix knew this to be the case. The Irlixian, however, did not. As Sanok was handing the Irlixian's ID card to Matrix, the Irlixian made a move that was faster than Sanok would have expected. His elbow slammed into Sanok's ribs, the man spun to face him, and he threw himself onto Sanok, both fists punching like pistons in a motor vehicle. Fortunately for Sanok, he was wearing ablative body armor under his clothing. It did not stop all the force of the elbow jab, but it did absorb the worst of it. Falling backwards from the force of the man jumping on him, Sanok instinctively reached behind him with one hand to break the fall. As he hit the floor, a sharp and stabbing pain exploded in his right wrist. While grappling on the floor, the two men caught each other's eyes. Sanok was dispassionate, acting on training and instinct. The Irlixian's eyes were filled with fear. Fear. It was an unforgiving master. Shifting his weight, Sanok was able to cause the man on top of him to lose his balance for a moment. Freeing his left hand, Sanok reached out and pinched the pressure point on the man's neck. Twitching, his eyes opened wide and his mouth wrinkled. Losing consciousness, he slumped over. Sanok pushed the man off him and got up on one knee, holding his aching wrist in his left hand. Looking at Matrix, he shrugged. "Fear. It made this man make an attack he didn't need to make," said Sanok. (reply Matrix, any) (posted by Bob) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ, Lieutenant Steven Matrix, Day 8, 2002) Matrix watched the Irlixian as he forced an elbow into Sanok's chest. The two impacted the floor in flash, Matrix readied his phaser but was afraid he would hit his fellow officer. Within a few moments Sanok incapacitated the Irlixian with his usual dispatch. "You need to teach me that someday Sanok." smiled Matrix. "Fear. It made this man make an attack he didn't need to make," said Sanok. "Are you okay?" asked Matrix as he looked over the three Irlixians on the floor. (Reply Sanok) "I don't see anything of value here...and we're not going to get anything out of these three. I hope team two has discovered where our hostages are." said Matrix. =^= Matrix to Nunez...any luck on finding information on the hostages? =^= (Reply Nunez) =^= We've managed to incapacitate three Irlixian officers, but we've found nothing of value here. =^= (Reply Nunez) =^= We'll proceed to office C immediately. Matrix out. =^= (Reply Nunez. IYW) "Okay Sanok lets do a though all scan of this area and head to office C." said Matrix as he started the scan. (Reply Sanok, Nunez, Smith) (Posted by Steve) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - a CO - Lt Cmdr T'Larah Sullivan - 2020) Dralar reported, "We have the three larger ships in pursuit. They are gaining, they will be within weapons range in 10 minutes at their current rate of speed." T'Larah came up as a tactical officer, she knew that phasers weren't usable at warp. Torpedoes only fire at warp speeds when fired by a vessel at warp, and then only at the speed the vessel that fired it. Forward torpedo use at warp was impossible, they had to overtake them. "Mister Dralar, Warp 2." she said. (Reply Dralar) T'Larah watched the tactical display as the pursuers gained speed as well. (Reply Jackson or Dralar) "Warp 4, Mister Dralar." (Reply Dralar) "Lets see how fast they can go, warp 6." she said in response to them gaining. (Reply Dralar) The numbers said that the Irlixians were gaining still, barely. She didn't want to out run them completely, or give up, then they would go back to the planet. ~If Chance were here, I'm sure he'd share one of his pirate tricks.~ she thought to her self. "The Irlixians have only been in space for less then a generation." she said. (Reply any) "So the old tricks are new tricks." T'Larah said, " Mister Jackson, I want a spread of torpedoes to detonate just in front of them, scare them, get them to stop." (Reply Jackson) "You are right except we are going to perform a Cochrane Deceleration just before the explosion. Dralar prepare for sudden deceleration. Jackson, I'm going to need a full spread of aft torpedoes. Then a sudden barrage of very precise weapons fire right after we go to impulse, knock down their shields" she explained. (Reply Dralar, Jackson) Once they both signaled that they were ready, T'Larah waited for the perfect moment, "On my mark," she said, "mark." (Reply Dralar, Jackson, IYW) The aft torpedoes fired, the Rose dropped out of warp, the torpedoes exploded, the Irlixians panicked and slammed on the brakes. All four vessels were out of warp and the Irlixians were the lead element. A barrage of weapons fire erupted from the Rose. The shields attempted to compensate but buckled under the torpedoes. The ships broke formation as Jackson followed up with phaser fire. The lead ship pulled up as the remaining two peeled off. As the beams struck their targets they stopped dead carried forward only by momentum. "Good shooting Mr Jackson. Scan them ensure they are immobile." T'Larah said. (Reply Jackson) "Why, what's wrong?" (Reply Jackson) The lead vessel's minor course correction had caused the phaser to strike one of the antimatter containment stabilizers, instead of it's intended target. "How many crew on that vessel?" she asked. She checked the containment, "Thirty percent and falling, hail them." she ordered. (Reply Jackson) "Irlixian vessel, this is Commander T'Larah Sullivan of the USS Rosenante, we regret to inform you that our phaser fire has unintentionally destabilized your antimatter containment....." (Reply Irlixian Fleet CO) "I realize that. Which is why we are offering our assistance." T'Larah explained. (Reply Irlixian Fleet CO) (Posted by Todd) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Seliya facility, Holding Block, ATAC/SEC Lt. jg  Ben Soma-2025) "You need to leave." Fornix said. "They have the Bohrs in the hanger, three decks up and to the west. They'll do everything they can to prevent your escape." He held out his phase pistol to the alien. "Here, you'll need this." Ben hadn't expected the guard to drop the forcefield and just let him go, but he was glad that turned out to be the case. He stepped up to Fornix and accepted the phase pistol he had offered. "You've just taken the first step towards peace between your people and mine Fornix." Ben said. He wondered what would happen to Fornix once his government found out he had aided Ben's escape, would he be killed for his actions. "I could use your help releasing the other prisoners Fornix." Ben said. "Come with me." (reply Fornix) "If thats what you want." Ben replied He then left the cell and moved in the direction of the next holding cell, not knowing what to expect. As he neared the entrance he heard something comming down one of the side corridors, placing his back to the wall he slowly edged up to the corner. Once in position he chanced a quick glance around the edge and saw two guards approaching his position, both had thier phase pistols at the ready. He checked the setting on his own pistol and adjusted it to a lower setting, one he hoped was stun. The two guards moved closer, unsuspecting and in no rush. When they reached the corner where Ben was he grabbed the first guard and pulled him around the corner driving a knee into his abdomin, as he dropped Ben dropped low around the corner as a blast from a phase pistol passed over head, he fired back and struck the other guard in the chest and watched him fall to the floor. Collecting thier dropped weapons and tucking them into his pants he continued to move on. Since the alarm had been sounded he saw no need to cover his assult on the guards by dragging them off to another more concealed location. He reached the first of the other prisoners and released the forcefield as he stepped inside. He pulled one of the phase pistols that he had aquired and offered it to his fellow prisoner. This one looked worse for wear but seemed healthy enough to move on his own. From the Doc's description Ben assumed this was Masters. "Well Mr. Masters." Ben said. "What say we get out of here. The Bohrs is three decks up and to the west in a hanger, hopefully she can still fly." (reply Masters) "That's a story for another time." Ben said. "We've got a lot of work to do if we plan on helping anyone." With Masters on his side the odds of actually reaching the Bohrs was increasing, if they freed the rest of the prisoners along the way they would stand a pretty could chance of sucseeding. They would have a better assult team and more of a crew to get the Bohrs operational, he just hoped there was enough left of her to make it back into space. (reply Fornix, Masters) (posted by Milo Young) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix- Seliya Facility Corridor -ACMO Ensign Sam Lopez, Day 8 - 2026) Sam followed the team through the door and was closed by Rosenbauer as soon as he passed through the door. The team stayed low as they made there way down the corridor. Then out of a corner a team of four guards came out. The four guards were taken down by phasers shots of the team.A few minutes down the corridor the team turned to find them selves in the holding area. The team looked in each cell for prisoners, but nothing. The team had to find the officers and rescue them before time ran out.Sam and the team turned a corner to see two guards, but before the guards reacted they were taken down by phaser hits from behind. To the surprise of the team it was two starfleet officers.~This rescue might go faster then I thought~ (Reply by any) (posted by shawn) --------------------------------------------------------------------- " Captain's Log, supplemental. Stardate 2413.11.08" "It seems that our gamble has paid off in spades. We have managed to reveal the true Identity of Khoda Rhone as a Federation Officer who had violated the Prime Directive for his own benefit. He had over the course of the last thirty years created a society that would have made John Gill proud to be a totalitarian. " "We have taken him into custody, but we are unable to affect the peaceful release of the kidnapped Federation officer taken from the USS Bohrs, due to the facilities commander's misplaced loyalty to their fallen god-hero. As a result we have dispatched an away team to rescue the hostages and to make their way to the hanger and secure the Bohrs as well." All this taking place while Remey and I attempt to minimize as much of the contamination as we can on the planet. Overhead, the Rosenante is engaged with Loyal Irlixian space forces who would just as soon die rather than believe that they have been misled by Khoda Rhone." "The damage that this one man has done astounds the mind and disheartens the spirit, yet I am confident that with guidance the Irlixians can come to put aside their dislike of each other and to establish a unified planetary government that will finally benefit all Irlixians rather than just those in favor of the ruling class. I believe that it will be a long fight, but one worth fighting for. To those ends I have no other desire but to pull things together and maintain the peace, once the threat of the military and the recovery of our personnel is complete. I only hope I can hold things together long enough for the members of the Starfleet diplomatic Corp to arrive."
